Cookie’s Eye

While she was staying with the pet-care service during the wedding, our dog Cookie developed a problem with one of her eyes.  The service dropped her at our vet on the Danforth, and I then took her to an animal opthomologist for closer examination.  It wasn’t good–the eye had basically been punctured and collapsed, either because of an external force or possibly an ingrown hair from her eyelid, which is fairly common in her breed.

This morning the Doctor began a procedure to determine if he could save the eye, or if it would have to be removed.  I spoke to him an hour ago, and he was optomistic that he could reconstruct the eye, which is good news.  I’m anxiously awaiting his call to see how it went.
